The Pillar Of Flame

The union of Heaven and Earth, as seen looking out to sea over the rooftops of Rottingdean.

The column of light may be thought of as an umbilical cord, linking the earthly and celestial realms.

In religion, mythology, and esotericism, the place where Heaven and Earth meet is the Axis Mundi. From the photo, this fabled location would appear to be out at sea, somewhere near Worthing.
